Job Description

Position: Assistant – Accounts Receivable

Department: Finance / Accounts

 

Job Purpose

To support the Accounts Receivable (AR) function for local customers by ensuring timely collections, accurate recording of receipts, effective monitoring of outstanding balances, and close coordination with the Sales team to maintain healthy cash flow.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable & Collections

• Manage Accounts Receivable activities.

• Follow up on outstanding customer payments in coordination with the Sales team and the customers.

• Monitor ageing reports and ensure timely collection of overdue balances.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer balances and payment status.

• Escalate long outstanding or critical accounts to management when required.

  • Coordination & Reporting

• Share regular AR updates and collection status reports with the Sales team.

• Prepare and circulate customer-wise ageing, collection, and outstanding reports.

• Support the Sales team by providing payment confirmations and AR clarifications.

  • Bank & Cash Management

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.

• Ensure customer receipts are accurately allocated against invoices.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies in bank records or customer accounts.

  • Month-End & Closing Support

• Assist in month-end closing activities related to Accounts Receivable.

• Ensure AR balances are accurate, reviewed, and reconciled at month-end.

• Support audit requirements by providing AR-related schedules and documents.

  • General & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.

• Maintain proper documentation and filing of AR records.

• Handle other accounting and finance duties as assigned by seniors.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the field
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or Tally).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
