Arriva Maldives is looking for a responsible, experienced, and safety-focused Speedboat Captain to join our Marine Operations team.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and navigate the company speedboat according to approved schedules and routes.
- Ensure the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of passengers and crew.
- Lead, supervise, and manage the boat crew during daily operations.
- Conduct daily inspections of the vessel, engine, fuel, safety equipment, and navigation systems.
- Monitor weather and sea conditions and make appropriate safety decisions.
- Operate and monitor GPS, radar, compass, VHF, navigation lights, and other onboard systems.
- Conduct routine engine checks and coordinate maintenance and repairs when required.
- Ensure the vessel is clean, well-maintained, and ready for daily trips.
- Conduct regular safety checks and participate in safety drills and emergency procedures.
- Assist passengers with boarding, disembarking, fishing, and recreational activities when required.
- Maintain accurate trip logs, daily checklists, maintenance records, and incident reports through the Arriva portal.
- Monitor fuel levels and coordinate refueling as required.
- Ensure proper loading, unloading, stowage, and securing of cargo and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with maritime laws, company policies, safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct monthly inspections of the hull, engine, electrical systems, navigation equipment, safety equipment, mooring, ropes, anchor, bilge pump, water tank, and other vessel components.
- Liaise with the maintenance team regarding damages, defects, and required repairs.
- Maintain professional and courteous communication with passengers, crew, other vessels, and relevant authorities.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Speedboat Captain / Boat Captain / Marine Captain.
- Strong knowledge of vessel operations, navigation, and marine safety.
- Relevant Captain/Boat Master licence or certification as required by Maldivian regulations.
- Good knowledge of marine navigation equipment and VHF radio communication.
- Knowledge of outboard engine operation and basic maintenance.
- Strong leadership and crew-management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies or stressful situations.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Reliable, responsible, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Knowledge of local waters and navigational hazards will be an advantage.
