Job Description

We are seeking a warm, professional and guest-focused Hostess to welcome guests to the restaurant, manage seating arrangements and provide courteous and efficient service from arrival through departure.

The successful candidate will play an important role in creating a positive first impression and supporting the smooth operation of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Escort guests to their tables and ensure a smooth seating experience.
  • Manage seating plans, table rotation and restaurant flow.
  • Receive telephone calls and handle restaurant reservations politely and accurately.
  • Maintain full knowledge of current promotions, daily specials and available Food & Beverage offerings.
  • Communicate promotions and relevant information clearly to guests.
  • Familiarize yourself with long-stay, regular, VIP and special-request guests.
  • Handle guest requests professionally and escalate complaints to the Head Waiter or Outlet Supervisor when required.
  • Avoid confrontation and ensure guest concerns are managed calmly and appropriately.
  • Recommend and upsell Food & Beverage products where appropriate.
  • Assist with table setup and special arrangements for birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations.
  • Support the service team with closing duties, including polishing glassware and cutlery when required.
  • Remain on duty until the last guest has departed and ensure guests leave with a positive final impression.
  • Invite guests to participate in evening entertainment and other resort activities where appropriate.
  • Share ideas and suggestions with supervisors to support service improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Food Safety & Hygiene

  • Follow all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.
  • Promote and comply with the resort HACCP program.
  • Participate in regular HACCP training and refresher sessions.
  • Hold or be able to attain the required Level 1 HACCP Food Safety certification within the required period.

Qualifications & Experience

  • GCE O' Level, A' Level, high school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
  • Previous guest service or hotel experience is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage service in a hotel restaurant is an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English.
  • Conversational French, German or another European language would be an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of menu items and ability to explain and promote products to guests.
  • Strong interpersonal and guest-relations skills.
  • Ability to remain standing and work effectively during busy restaurant operations.
  • First Aid Training is preferred.
