Head Bartender

We are seeking an experienced and service-focused Head Bartender to oversee the daily operation of an assigned bar outlet, ensuring consistently high standards of beverage quality, guest service, hygiene, stock control and team performance.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Outlet Management and F&B Management team while taking an active, hands-on role in the overall Food & Beverage operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the assigned bar outlet.
• Supervise mise en place, cleanliness, hygiene, stock control, breakages and correct use of bar equipment.
• Ensure bartenders and bar waiters consistently follow established beverage service standards.
• Coordinate the preparation, presentation and service of beverages to maintain the highest quality standards.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and ensure consistency in beverage preparation and presentation.
• Maintain a visible presence in the outlet and actively interact with guests to obtain feedback.
• Handle guest requests and complaints professionally and ensure appropriate follow-up with the relevant supervisors.
• Assign and delegate responsibilities to Bartenders and Bar Waiters and monitor their performance.
• Assist with duty schedules and manpower planning according to operational requirements.
• Coach, train and develop bar team members through regular briefings and on-the-job training.
• Monitor requisitions, wastage, spoilage, breakages and proper stock-handling procedures.
• Assist in maintaining appropriate beverage stock levels and effective cost control.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, storage and cleanliness of furniture, fixtures and operating equipment.
• Support the implementation of promotions and merchandising initiatives across the bar and other F&B outlets.
• Monitor guest preferences, product performance and sales trends and provide feedback to Management.
• Support initiatives designed to achieve departmental revenue and profit objectives.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, purchasing requirements, reports and other operational documentation as required.
• Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness throughout the bar operation.
• Promote and comply with the resort's HACCP and food safety requirements.
• Participate in regular HACCP training and conduct relevant on-the-job training for the team.
• Support other Food & Beverage outlets when operationally required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years' bar experience in a resort hotel, including at least 1 year in a supervisory position.
• Strong knowledge of beverage operations, bar service and responsible beverage service.
• Good knowledge of stock control, requisitions, wastage management and beverage cost control.
• Strong leadership and team-development skills.
• Excellent guest relations and complaint-handling skills.
• Good numerical skills and ability to perform operational calculations accurately.
• Good computer literacy and ability to maintain accurate operational records.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• French, German or another European language would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of hygiene, food safety and HACCP requirements.
• HACCP certification, or willingness to attain the required level in accordance with resort standards.
