About the Role

Safari Island Resort is seeking a skilled and experienced Boat Captain to operate resort vessels safely and efficiently while ensuring the comfort and safety of guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate resort vessels safely for transfers, excursions, and other official trips.
• Inspect engines, machinery, fuel, navigation systems, and safety equipment before every journey.
• Monitor weather and sea conditions and follow all maritime safety requirements.
• Assign daily duties to boat crew members and report emergencies or technical issues to the Transport Head.
• Welcome guests and provide safety briefings and relevant information about the vessel and journey.
• Ensure the vessels are cleaned before and after every trip and perform routine maintenance.
• Assist guests during meals, snorkelling activities, and local-island visits when required.
• Ensure at least one crew member remains on board when the vessel is anchored at another island or harbour.
• Assist with luggage, supplies, waste disposal, emergency duties, and other tasks assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Boat Captain, preferably in a resort or tourism environment.
• Valid Boat Captain’s License and required maritime certifications.
• Strong knowledge of local waters, navigation, tides, weather, and marine safety.
• Knowledge of boat engines and vessel maintenance.
• Good leadership, communication, and guest-service skills.
• Physically fit and able to work flexible hours.
• Basic English communication skills.
