Tug Boat Captain
We are seeking an experienced Tug Boat Captain to operate and command a tug vessel supporting harbor operations, ship berthing, towing, and marine logistics in the Maldives. The ideal candidate will have strong vessel handling skills, excellent knowledge of maritime safety procedures, and the ability to lead a crew in demanding operational conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely command and operate the tug boat during towing, berthing, and escort operations.
- Coordinate with port authorities, harbor pilots, and vessel masters during maneuvers.
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Supervise and manage the tug crew during operations and routine duties.
- Conduct pre-departure checks and ensure the vessel is maintained in operational condition.
- Maintain accurate logs and operational records.
- Respond to emergency situations and ensure safe operations at all times.
Requirements
- Valid Mariner License or Tug Master Certification recognized by maritime authorities.
- Minimum 1 year experience as Tug Master / Captain.
- Strong knowledge of towing operations and vessel maneuvering.
- Experience working with port authorities and large vessels.
- Valid STCW certifications.
- Good leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with Maldives maritime regulations.
