Duty Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and technically capable Duty Engineer to support the operation, monitoring and maintenance of the resort’s Power & Energy systems, ensuring equipment reliability, safety and compliance with CCR standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer and will support the smooth operation of the resort’s power plant, desalination plant, pumping systems, boilers, sewage treatment plant and related engineering facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned engineering duties and maintenance works safely, correctly and within the required timeframes.
• Operate, monitor and maintain the resort’s power plant, boilers, desalination plant, pumping systems, sewage treatment plant and swimming pool plant rooms.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with approved maintenance schedules.
• Identify and report equipment faults, defects and required repairs to Engineering Management.
• Ensure unsafe equipment or installations are isolated and secured appropriately until repairs can be completed.
• Respond promptly to work orders, radio calls and operational requests.
• Complete work orders accurately and return all required documentation to the Engineering Office.
• Maintain accurate shift logs and records of daily activities.
• Ensure a proper handover to the incoming shift, including details of outstanding repairs and incomplete works.
• Record materials and spare parts used during each shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of engineering work areas after completing assigned tasks.
• Report potential safety hazards immediately to Engineering Management.
• Follow all Health & Safety requirements when working with machinery, tools, equipment and materials.
• Assist with the training and guidance of other Engineering team members when required.
• Support other maintenance personnel and departments according to operational needs.
• Assist with new installations, overhauling and engineering projects as directed.
• Ensure required materials and spare parts are requested in sufficient time for maintenance and repair activities.
• Follow all fire, evacuation and emergency procedures.
• Comply with company policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.
• Participate in technical and safety training as required by Engineering Management.
• Perform other Engineering duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school education or equivalent combination of education, technical training and relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Engineering or Power & Energy role.
• Practical experience with machinery, diesel engines, welding, boilers, pumps, desalination systems and sewage treatment plants.
• Qualification, certification or relevant experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Diesel-Operated Power Plant systems.
• Good understanding of preventive maintenance and safe equipment operation.
• Ability to diagnose basic mechanical and operational faults.
• Basic spoken and written English, sufficient to understand technical instructions, safety labels and operational procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate maintenance records and shift logs.
• Physically fit and able to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods.
