Laundry Attendant

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Laundry Attendant to support the daily laundry operation and ensure all guest and resort linens are washed, dried, finished and handled according to established quality and hygiene standards.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Laundry Supervisor to maintain efficient laundry operations and high standards of cleanliness and care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and sort soiled laundry according to fabric type, color and washing requirements.
• Treat stains using the appropriate procedures and products.
• Weigh soiled linen before loading washing machines.
• Operate washing machines, dryers and chemical dispensing systems correctly and safely.
• Select appropriate wash, drying and cooling cycles according to linen type.
• Monitor machine operation and report any irregularities to the Laundry Supervisor.
• Remove clean laundry from machines and identify stained items requiring rewash.
• Fold, flatten, stack and prepare clean clothing and linen for distribution.
• Inspect laundry for tears, holes, missing buttons, broken zippers and other defects.
• Load clean linen and garments into laundry carts or bags for distribution to designated areas.
• Maintain proper stock handling and avoid damage or loss of items.
• Clean washing machines, dryers and other laundry equipment regularly.
• Remove lint from dryers after each load.
• Maintain cleanliness of the laundry working area, including sweeping, mopping and cleaning around equipment.
• Ensure proper shift handover and communicate relevant information to colleagues.
• Check machine temperatures and ensure equipment has cooled down appropriately before laundry closure.
• Follow all health, safety and hygiene requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school education or equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
• Previous laundry experience is preferred but not essential.
• Basic knowledge of laundry chemicals, washing formulas and their effects on different types of fabric is an advantage.
• Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures accurately.
• Basic English comprehension sufficient to understand safety labels, instructions and workplace communication.
• Basic counting and record-handling ability.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift, bend, push or pull laundry loads.
• First Aid Training is an advantage.
