Job Description

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Recreation Manager to organize and lead the resort's Sports, Entertainment & Activities operations, ensuring professional, engaging and efficient service while maximizing guest satisfaction, departmental profitability and cost control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Sports, Entertainment & Activities programs and ensure departmental goals are achieved.
  • Organize and actively participate in resort entertainment programs, including themed nights, tournaments, marine presentations, cultural events, movie nights, games and live entertainment.
  • Plan, organize and lead the resort's Christmas and New Year festive programs.
  • Organize excursions, fishing trips, sports activities, special activities and evening entertainment.
  • Occasionally accompany guest cruises for periods of approximately 2–4 days when required.
  • Conduct guest welcome briefings and presentations confidently to groups and large audiences.
  • Develop activity and entertainment programs and prepare action plans for their successful implementation.
  • Review existing programs and introduce new activities and special experiences to continuously enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure evening entertainment and scheduled activities run smoothly and on time.
  • Liaise closely with relevant departments to ensure operational support is provided in a timely and effective manner.
  • Monitor daily excursion and Sports Centre billings and ensure accurate submission of departmental covers and records to Accounts.
  • Review excursion pre-bookings, posted bills and next-day sign-up sheets.
  • Ensure excursion communications are circulated to relevant departments on time.
  • Prepare departmental duty rosters and ensure team members report for duty as scheduled.
  • Ensure all SEA outlets and activity areas open and close according to established operating hours.
  • Monitor lobby coverage during excursion departures, evening shifts and peak operating periods.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and departmental documentation.
  • Ensure snorkeling equipment, life jackets and related safety equipment records are properly maintained.
  • Continuously evaluate team performance and implement improvements to SEA services.
  • Plan and conduct training and development programs to maintain a well-trained and motivated team.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, purchase specifications, reports and presentations.
  • Monitor departmental costs, labor, supplies and equipment to achieve budget goals.
  • Prepare supply requirements and ensure necessary equipment and materials are ordered and received on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree or Hospitality Diploma, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar position in a resort hotel.
  • Previous Club Med experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in English is essential, both spoken and written.
  • Strong experience and confidence in swimming and snorkeling.
  • Good knowledge of resort excursions, sports, recreational activities and entertainment operations.
  • Strong leadership, customer service and team-management skills.
  • Confident public speaker with strong presentation and event-hosting skills.
  • Friendly, outgoing and courteous personality with the ability to engage guests of different nationalities and age groups.
  • Ability to handle guest concerns with patience, tact and diplomacy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the flexibility to work varying schedules according to resort operations and entertainment programs.
  • Physically fit and able to actively participate in sports, excursions and entertainment activities.
  • Good numerical and administrative skills.
  • Computer literate with the ability to accurately maintain operational records.
  • Knowledge of Opera PMS is an advantage.

Licences / Certifications

  • CPR certification preferred.
  • Basic First Aid certification preferred.
  • Basic Fire Safety certification preferred.
  • Swimming and snorkeling certification/training preferred.
  • Scuba diving certification or training is an advantage.
