VACANCY – LABORATORY MANAGER / CHEMIST

We are seeking a qualified, experienced, and results-oriented Laboratory Manager / Chemist to lead laboratory operations and ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory.

• Review and interpret the results of chemical, microbiological, and environmental analyses conducted by accredited laborotory. 

• Ensure compliance with ISO 17025, quality assurance requirements, and laboratory best practices.

• Review test results and prepare technical reports for clients.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules, and preventive maintenance programs.

• Develop and implement laboratory procedures, quality control measures, and safety protocols.

• Train, supervise, and evaluate laboratory personnel.

• Coordinate sample receipt, testing schedules, and reporting timelines.

• Support laboratory accreditation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in laboratory operations, quality assurance, or analytical testing.

• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role will be an added advantage.

• Sound knowledge of ISO 17025, laboratory quality systems, and testing methodologies.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory information management systems (LIMS) is desirable.
