WaveCraft, a rapidly growing fiberglass boatbuilding factory in the Maldives, is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Boatbuilding and Projects to lead our production operations and drive excellence in the construction of world-class FRP vessels.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all boatbuilding operations, including lamination, carpentry, mechanical, electrical, and finishing departments.
• Oversee the construction of FRP vessels from planning through completion and delivery.
• Develop and implement production schedules, resource plans, and workflow improvements.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and construction plans.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.
• Coordinate installation of engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and final outfitting.
• Manage, mentor, and develop production supervisors and skilled trades personnel.
• Work closely with management, designers, naval architects, suppliers, and clients to ensure successful project execution.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of experience in FRP/composite boatbuilding, shipyard operations, or marine manufacturing.
• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within boatbuilding or vessel construction.
• Strong knowledge of hull and deck construction, structural lamination, marine systems installation, and finishing works.
• Experience with engine installation, shafts, propellers, steering systems, electrical systems, and marine plumbing.
• Ability to read and interpret GA drawings, structural plans, and engineering schematics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent in English and willing to relocate to Thimarafushi Island, Maldives.
