The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising all maintenance, repair, and servicing activities of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems onboard vessels. The role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective vessel operations by effectively managing repairs, replacements, manpower, and spare parts. A key focus is to reduce operational costs through efficient maintenance planning and proper resource utilization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all vessel maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure all mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and engine systems are operating safely and efficiently.
- Evaluate equipment condition and make cost-effective repair or replacement decisions.
- Focus on reducing maintenance costs through proper planning and preventive maintenance.
- Manage and control spare parts usage and inventory to minimize waste and unnecessary spending.
- Assign tasks to technicians and ensure efficient use of manpower and materials.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety procedures and company standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and spare parts usage.
- Report major faults, risks, and cost-impacting issues to the Operations Manager.
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and consumables to avoid damage and wastage.
- Support troubleshooting and emergency repairs with quick and cost-efficient solutions.
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and order in all maintenance operations.
- Participate in safety meetings and operational briefings when required.
