The China State Construction Engineering Corporation is the largest construction company in the world by revenue and the 8th largest general contractor in terms of overseas sales, as of 2020. The Company arrived in maldives during 2016 to begin the work of 7000 social housing units in hulhumale, the channel between Phase I & Phase II and the bridges connecting them. There are many ongoing projects and some in the process of commencement.
