Dual Role Pastry Chef / Cook

Job Description

As a Pastry & Hot Kitchen Chef, you will be required to perform the following duties and undertake the following main responsibilities in a professional manner:

Pastry & Bakery Responsibilities:
Create pastries, cakes, baked goods, chocolate items, sandwiches, pizzas, etc., by following standard recipes.
Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure attractive and tasteful presentation.
Organize baked goods and chocolate items in the display case to attract customer interest.
Pack bakery and pastry items using the packaging materials provided by the Employer.
Develop and test new recipes for seasonal menus and special occasions.
Handle customer queries related to customized cake or pastry orders, suggest flavor/decor ideas.

Hot Kitchen Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of soups, sauces, salads, mains, and grilled items as per recipe and quality standards.
Ensure proper portioning, garnishing, and plating of hot dishes.
Support with breakfast/lunch service and maintain efficiency during peak hours.
Help with daily mise en place, stock rotation, and food storage as per hygiene standards.

General Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and high hygiene standards in both the pastry and hot kitchen areas.
Properly handle and maintain all kitchen equipment and follow café operational protocols.
Respond to orders, customer queries, and complaints in a polite and timely manner.
Provide feedback and suggestions to the Management team for improvements.
Undertake any additional tasks assigned by Management as per company SOPs.
