Marine Mechanic

• Demonstrates a high degree of Velaa’s culture and service standards and reflects the values of Velaa Private Island.
• Ensure he/she is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components of boats, yachts, jet skis and other watercraft..
• Conduct routine inspections, diagnostics, and performance tests.
• Collaborates with managers to comprehend project demands, formulate work plans, and set deadlines.
• Manages resources such as equipment, materials, and personnel to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and repair equipment efficiently.
• Hands-on experience working with outboard, inboard, Seadoo jet skis and diesel marine engines.
• Identifies opportunities for process improvements and implements best practices to boost efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate repair needs to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must have a diploma or equivalent education in Marine Technology.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, at a five-star luxury property.
• Experience working on luxury yachts, commercial vessels, or specialized marine equipment.
• Compliance with safety regulations and environmental laws related to fuel handling and waste disposal.
• Result-oriented with high self-drive and commitment.
• Attention to detail to ensure proper maintenance and safety.
• Independent, able to work with minimal supervision, and well in a team.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
