Job Description

  • Show a strong understanding of Velaa's cultural values and commitment to service excellence.
  • Support the Kitchen team in overseeing culinary tasks and day-to-day functions.
  • Ensure adherence to Velaa's criteria for quality, cleanliness, and guest contentment.
  • Foster effective inter-departmental communication while nurturing a constructive team atmosphere.
  • Consistently strive to maintain dish quality, and proactively enhance both the quality and variety of options available.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role with hotels/resorts in preparing authentic Chinese cuisine. 
  • Experience in the Maldives is an added advantage and must be a Chinese national. 
  • Must have excellent knowledge of HACCP and other food safety standards.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Experienced in working with multicultural teams and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
  • Must be in good physical condition, able to operate kitchen equipment, and lift heavy objects.
  • Must have a friendly demeanor and maintain high standards of personal grooming and presentation.
