  • Inspect diesel engines and systems to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint problems accurately.
  • Analyze diagnostic reports and repair manuals to develop repair plans.
  • Perform repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and related components.
  • Replace faulty parts, such as fuel pumps, injectors, pistons, and gaskets.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and brake adjustments.
  • Weld and fabricate parts when necessary.
  • Test and adjust engine settings for optimal performance and fuel efficiency.
  • Conduct emissions testing and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Perform engine tune-ups and fuel system adjustments.
  • Maintain detailed records of all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.
  • Create and complete work orders and service reports.
  • Communicate repair status and recommendations to manager/supervisor.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure that repaired boats and equipment meet safety and emissions requirements.
  • Maintain and organize tools and equipment in a clean and safe manner.
  • Report any damaged or malfunctioning tools for repair or replacement.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate related to the field.
  • Minimum 2 years, proven experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
  • Welding and fabrication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on call for emergencies.
