Job Summary: The Snorkeling Guide/Boat Crew plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable snorkeling experience for guests. This position involves guiding snorkeling excursions, assisting with boat operations, and ensuring the well-being of passengers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Snorkeling Guiding:

    • Conduct pre-snorkeling briefings to educate guests on safety procedures, equipment usage, and marine life guidelines.
    • Guide snorkeling tours, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of participants.
    • Assist beginners and nervous snorkelers with instructions and support.
  2. Safety Procedures:

    • Enforce safety protocols and emergency procedures during snorkeling activities.
    • Monitor weather conditions and assess the suitability of snorkeling sites.
    • Conduct regular safety checks on snorkeling equipment and ensure its proper maintenance.
  3. Guest Assistance:

    • Assist guests with snorkel gear fitting and provide demonstrations on usage.
    • Offer assistance to guests entering and exiting the water.
    • Provide support to individuals who may require additional attention or guidance.
  4. Marine Knowledge:

    • Possess a good understanding of local marine life, coral reefs, and ecological principles.
    • Educate guests about the marine environment, emphasizing responsible snorkeling practices.
    • Identify and point out marine species during snorkeling excursions.
  5. Boat Operations:

    • Assist with boat preparation, including loading and unloading of equipment.
    • Support the boat captain with navigation, anchoring, and mooring procedures.
    • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the boat and equipment.
  6. Customer Service:

    • Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and concerns.
    • Create a friendly and positive atmosphere onboard the boat.
  7. Emergency Response:

    • Be prepared to respond quickly and effectively in the event of emergencies, including first aid and rescue situations.
    • Communicate with the boat captain and other crew members during emergencies.
  8. Environmental Stewardship:

    • Promote environmental conservation and responsible snorkeling practices.
    • Encourage guests to respect marine life and follow ethical guidelines.
