Chief Accountant Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of all accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable, Treasury, Fixed Assets, Month-end accruals, and provisions.
- Responsible for year-end closing and the preparation of the monthly financial statements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end management financial reports.
- Review and approve all payment transactions: reimbursements, payments on accounts, vouchers, checks, etc.
- Handles year-end-closing and monthly financial statements.
- Review balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Liaise with external government institutions and act as the main contact for internal and external audits.
- Respond to all queries related to financial matters.
- Recommend and draft financial and accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain the accounting manual up to date and ensure adherence to the manual and all policies and procedures.
- Review and approve journal vouchers.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Coordinate the accurate and timely payment of suppliers.
- Assist in the preparation of yearly budgets.
- Administer all balance sheet accounts reconciliations.
- Act as the point of contact for queries related to employee and supplier payments.
- Reviews account payables and weekly check runs.
- Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers, and documents business transactions.
- Responsible for distributing financial statements and cost center reports.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Chief Accountant Qualifications and Skills:

- Working knowledge of computers, especially accounting/spreadsheet-related software and tools
- Managed the financial reporting, consolidation, and financial analysis process to ensure that the firm financial information is accurate, methodic, timely, and meets business needs.
- Advise the top-level management with regard to finance, management, staffing, and other service issues and procedures
- Directed the financial end-to-end processes of the company: Annual WP, bi-quarterly business forecasts, and actual results.
- Led and directed the financial planning for the organization, including business operations and forecasting the business’s financial results.
- Involved in Business Development activities to develop financial models for sales and marketing initiatives and pricing strategies.
Chief Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance Management.
- 5-7 years at least in the Supervisory level, a background in Hospitality, International Restaurant is a MUST.
- Certified Licensed Accountant is a plus
- Preferable with Hotel/Resort Accounting Experience
- Experience in creating a budget, accounting guidelines, end-of-year accounts, and external liaison with auditors.
- Excellent in English, oral or written
- Computer Literate
- Flexible in work
